New Delhi, Aug 18: Amid reports of a brief scuffle between Indian and Chinese armies at Ladakh’s Pangong Tso lake, the government on Friday confirmed that an incident did took place.
Adressing a press conference, MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said “I have not confirmed stone pelting or use of rods, just said there was an incident,” news agency ANI reported.
On Doklam Stand-off, Kumar said we will keep initiating talks with China to resolve the ongoing border tension.
He also welcomed the US Department decision of designating Hizbul Mujahideen as a global terror outfit, adding it reflects joint commitment of India and USA.
Speaking on the flood-hit Bihar, Raveesh stated we are in talks with Nepal.
Raveesh Kumar did not say anything on Chinese propaganda video on Doklam issue. “I don’t want to dignify this video with a comment,” he said.
During the Press Conference, MEA spokesperson also talked about Japan Envoy Kenji Hirramatsu’s statement for backing India over three month old standoff at Doklam. He said “Statement speaks for itself.”
