New Delhi, May 4: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday warned of thunderstorms, squalls, and gusty winds for the next three days for several states across the country.
The warning was in the wake of the dust storms that swept through Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, claiming more than 60 lives in the two states.
The forecast suggests that on May 5, several parts of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and Himachal Pradesh (HP) likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied with squall. While thunderstorms, along with gusty wind, is predicted for Uttarakhand and Punjab.

The notification further stated that thunderstorm, accompanied with squall and hail, is expected in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on May 7, while thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds would be prevalent in Uttarakhand and Punjab.
Heavy rain is anticipated in North-Eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on the same day, while thunderstorms/dust storm in Rajasthan.
