If Akhilesh, Mayawati comes together, then BJP’s game over in 2019: Lalu Yadav

Lalu Yadav

Patna, July 5, 2017: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Wednesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leaving no stone unturned in breaking backs of all prominent parties, fearing its fate in 2019 polls.

Addressing a gathering at the foundation day of his party in Patna, Lalu said “Everybody is feeling, and is working according to their policies, Then may it be Mayawati, Akhilesh, Robert Vadra, Priyanka Gandhi, Mamata or Kejriwal, Lalu Yadav or his family, the BJP wants to break us, because it knows our power very well. And is also aware of the fact that if all opposition parties unite, then its dream of again forming government in 2019 will remain a dream.”

Lalu, however, skipped naming Congress VP Rahul Gandhi or JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar in his list of leaders.

Yadav further said that if Former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav and BSP supremo Mayawati come together then there BJP will stand no chance in the next elections.

“If Akhilesh and Mayawati come together, and there are strong possibilities of the same then 2019 match for BJP is over,” said Lalu.

Lalu and Nitish had recently expressed differences over their choice of presidential candidate. While Kumar had extended support to Ram Nath Kovind, Lalu went with the Opposition’s Meira Kumar. Kumar had further refused to reconsider his support.

RJD also later backed Congress’ decision to boycott Friday’s GST session of Parliament. Meanwhile, Nitish sent commerce minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav for the session instead of state finance minister Abdul Bari Siddiqui, who is a RJD leader.
