IED blast in Naxal-hit Gadchiroli on poll eve, CRPF jawan injured


Gadrichol , April 10 : One security personnel was critically injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast triggered by Naxals in Maharashtra’s Gadricholi on Wednesday.
The Naxal attack took place when CRPF team was accompanying a polling party on its way to the polling booth to secure the area ahead of the poll.

The first phase polling for the general elections will be conducted on Thursday. Naxals attacked the 191 battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Gatta area of Ettapalli.

Polling for Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha seat will take place on Thursday.
The strike comes a day after a BJP MLA and four personnel of his security staff were killed when Naxals blew up their vehicle with an IED in the Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district, which falls in Bastar Lok Sabha constituency.
