Ambala, Sep 14 : A Jaguar fighter jet, a deep strike fighter plane capable of carrying nuclear payload caught fire just before taking off at Ambala airfield on Tuesday.
Fortunately, the pilot of the jet managed to escape safely, Indian Air Force officials said.
As per sources, the pilot observed fire and aborted the take off.
The pilot then made a safe and quick exit from the aircraft.
Earlier on Saturday, a Mig-21 fighter jet had crashed near Barmer in Rajasthan,but no casualties were reported as both pilots ejected safely.
