Hundred toilets in UP’s Etawah painted saffron; Akhilesh says, BJP is insulting religion

Lucknow, Jan 12: After the state secretariat, Haj office and a police station painted saffron here, now toilets has been given a coat of the same color in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah.

According to the news report, around hundred toilets in Etawah’s Kripalpur painted in saffron color following the  instructions of Gram Pradhan Vedpal Singh Nayak.

Reacting to the move, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav hit out at Yogi government, saying “Bhagwa wale bathroom me koi jayega to socho kiska apmaan hoga… Isne dharam ka bhi apmaan kiya hai… batao bhagwa kar diya…ye dharm ka apman karne wali sarkar hai. (If someone uses a saffron bathroom, who is it that will be insulted? This is also an insult to religion…this government is one that insults religion).”

“They named toilets as izzatghar and then splattered colour on that izzat (honour)…”We believe that changing colours will not change anything… It is only the colour of development that is permanent… Instead of doing anything for people’s welfare, the BJP is involved in works that divert attention”, news agency PTI qouted Yadav was saying.

Meanwhile, Vedpal Singh Nayak, Gram Pradhan said ” People of the village suggested me this colour. When their (BJP) government has been formed not only in Uttar Pradesh but also in the nation, what is the problem if toilets are also painted in their colour”.
