Delhi: The Senior Congress leader and ex-Lok Sabha member, Kirti Azad said that “The students are the future of this country. Students are here to raise voice against injustice. How can police enter the campus without permission of the Vice-Chancellor?

I have come here as a former student of DU as what has happened is wrong. The police cannot file FIR against students. Videos show how police entered the bathrooms of the campus. We will not let happen. I think this action is inhuman. The norm is to take permission of the administration. Students who were studying in the library were beaten mercilessly,” questions ex-Lok Sabha member, Kirti Azad.

Fire at wholesale rice market in Kolkata

Kolkata, A fire broke out at the wholesale rice market in north Kolkata’s Raja Bazar on Sunday. No casualty or injury was reported.

Smoke was seen billowing from a factory premises around 2.15 p.m. Eleven fire engines fought the blaze and controlled it in an hour.

“Chemicals stored in the factory helped fan the fire. Since the area is densely populated, fire-fighters faced problems in controlling the fire,” said West Bengal Fire Service Minister Sujit Bose.Cooling operation was on, Bose said.

2 trapped in house collapse in Delhi

New Delhi, At least two persons were feared trapped after a house collapsed in south Delhi’s C.R. Park area on Sunday, fire officials said.

“Five fire tenders have been rushed to the site,” said Delhi Fire Services Chief Atul Garg. The rescue and search operations were underway.

Honor killing: Girl shot dead by cousin in UP

Meerut, In a case of honor killing, a girl was shot dead by her cousin and uncle in Sardhana area here in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, police said.

The class 11 student as shot dead for continuing a relationship against the family’s wishes. The incident took place when the girl was in her uncle’s house.

The police have detained five persons, including the cousin, uncle and also the lover of the girl. The body has been sent for post mortem. Further details are awaited.
