Himachal Pradesh assembly elections to be held on 9 Nov,counting on 18 December

New Delhi, 12th October: Chief Election Commissioner AK Jyoti on Thursday announced that Himachal Pradesh general election would be held on 9th November and the result will be declared on 18th December. 

Election commission also stated that “We will have VVPATs along with EVMs, height of voting compartments will be increased to 30 inches.

The chief election commissioner told that  for the first time Himachal Pradesh will have 136 all women managed booths.

CEC AK Jyoti also informed that model code of conduct for Himachal Pradesh assembly election comes into effect from now itself.

Election commission has increased the size of screen on VVPAT machines to 10 cm by 5.6 cm for the voters to able to verify their vote easily.

The fourteenth legislative assembly election will be held this year to elect members of the 68 constituencies in Himachal Pradesh .

Meanwhile the CEC did not mentioned any dates for Gujarat general elections but informed that Gujarat assembly elections to be held prior to 18 December.
