Heavy rain lashes Mumbai: Local trains running late, flights delayed

Mumbai, June 9: Heavy rains lashed Mumbai early on Saturday as Monsoon proceeded further towards central parts of Maharashtra and other regions. Heavy showers disrupted normal life as the local train service was affected. Even the flights are affected by the heavy downpour. 

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings of heavy rainfall in Mumbai and Konkan region for next two days.

Waterlogging was reported from several areas after Saturday morning’s downpour in Mumbai.

According to India TV report, over 30 flights have been delayed and three cancelled due to adverse weather condition in Mumbai.

Mumbai’s local trains are the lifeline of the city as it is the main form of public transport for the dwellers of the metropolitan city. Reports say that the trains were running late by around 10-12 minutes.
