Dehradun, July 21: India Meteorological Department of Dehradun on Saturday said heavy rainfall is expected from tonight to July 27.
According to IMD, very heavy rainfall is expected on 22nd July. The department has asked people to be alert while taking mountain roads.
Following the warning of very heavy rains, the State Disaster Management teams have been also directed to remain alert.
The incidents of Landslides are very common in the Monsoon season in the hilly state with many roads getting regularly blocked due to falling stones and boulders.
On Friday at least two people died and five others were suspected to be trapped in rubble after a cloudburst in Chamoli which led to a landslide.
However, last week also continuous heavy rainfall lashed Uttarakhand as bridges washed away in some places, the Chamba to Rishikesh National Highway blocked due to a landslide.
Seven people were reportedly killed in rain-related incidents in the state capital of Dehradun.
