New Delhi, Aug 11: People raise questions against the system but when the time comes for them to show their humanity, they just move on.
As in a shocking and disheartening video where a 32-year-old man was hit was a tempo in the National Capital was not just ignored by the passersby but a man who saw him dying in pool of blood, stole his mobile and fled from there.
A 32-year-old-man killed on Thursday after he was hit by a tempo in west Delhi, police said. He kept lying on road for almost an hour till the time police was informed.
In the CCTV footage of the accident it can be clearly seen that the driver of the auto rickshaw after hitting the man coming out and checking his vehicle if it has been damaged or not while ignoring the accident victim and then fleeing away.
The accident held at around 5 a.m. in Subhash Nagar area.
“The deceased has been identified as Matbool, a resident of West Bengal. He was hit by an autorichshaw from behind,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) Pushpendra Kumar said.
A government hospital was just 500 metres from the accident spot.
“He was declared brought dead in the hospital,” the officer said, adding, “We are looking for the auto driver, whose visuals have been captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the area.”
Matbool used to work as an e-rickshaw driver and at night he worked as a security guard, police said.
He resided in west Delhi’s Tihar village area with his family.
