HC notice to Delhi police on Ryan student death case


Ramheet Meena, father of Six-year-old student Divyansh Kakrora who found died in septic tank of Ryan international school building filed a plea alleging that officials who are investigating the case are in connivance with school management.

In view of that the Delhi High Court issued a notice to Delhi Police on Friday and Justice Siddharth Mridul asked deputy commissioner of police (south) to remain present before the court as it sought a response on the plea by March 18.

The plea asked the court order the incorporation of section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code in the FIR and may also hand over the case to an independent body like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation.

The plea filed by Divyansh’s father through advocate Aditya Aggarwal said that an FIR was registered under section 304A (causing death by negligence) instead of section 302.

On January 30,class I student Divyansh was found dead in the school building in Vasant Kunj area. Delhi police had arrested and booked charges of causing death due to negligence on principal Sandhya Sabu (50), class teacher Meenakshi Kapoor (38), reverse osmosis plant operator Yogesh Kholiya (23), maintenance incharge Puran Singh Bisht (65) and gardener Ram Narayan (44).
