Haryana minister Anil Vij demands compensation for Dera followers killed in violence

Punjab, Sep 21, 2017: Controversial minister of Haryana Anij Vij has once again racked up wrangle after asking compensation for followers of Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh who were killed in police action on August 25, when violent protests broke out in response to the self-styled godman’s conviction in a rape case.

Vij, who is learnt to be big follower of Ram Rahim, allegedly argued that compensation was awarded to victims after last year’s Jat agitation, So why not for the Dera victims?

Earlier this week, the Haryana Police released a list of 43 people wanted in connection with the violence by Dera Sacha Sauda sect followers in Panchkula and others areas post Ram Rahim’s conviction in rape case last month.

Honeypreet Kaur, adopted daughter of Sect Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s and absconding Dera spokesman Aditya Insan was top on the list.

Photographs of most wanted suspects responsible for instigating or indulging in the large-scale violence have also been released on the Haryana Police website.

Thirty-six people died and over 250 others were injured in violence in Haryana’s Panchkula and Sirsa towns on August 25 following the conviction of the DSS chief by the CBI special court in a rape case.

Non-bailable warrants against BJP’s Sanjiv Balyan, Sangeet Som in Muzaffarnagar riot case

The local court of Uttar Pradesh has issued a non-bailable warrant against Former Union minister Sanjiv Balyan, Uttar Pradesh minister Suresh Rana and BJP MLAs Sangeet Som and Umesh Malik and others in connection with a 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots case.

The Court has also sought permission from the state to prosecute them under section 153A of IPC for allegedly make hate speeches. According to news agency PTI additional chief judicial magistrate, on Friday issued a non-bailable warrant and asked to all the appear in Court on 19th January 2018.

Almost 60 people died and 40,000 were displaced in Muzaffarnagar communal clashes which took place between August and September 2013

All strength to your shoulders: Kamal Haasan to Rahul Gandhi

Chennai, Dec 16: Kamal Haasan on Saturday congratulated politician Rahul Gandhi who has taken over as the new Congress President. The veteran actor-filmmaker says he’s sure that Rahul would work and deserve the admiration like his elders.

“Congratulations Mr. Rahul.G. Your seat does not define you but you can define your position. I have admired your elders. I am sure you would work and deserve my admiration too. All the strength to your shoulders,” Kamal wrote.

The process of his election as the new Congress chief was completed after the Central Election Authority President Mullapally Ramachandran handed over the Certificate of Election to Rahul Gandhi in a ceremony at Congress party headquarters.

The ceremony was marked by loud celebrations as scorces of Rahul Gandhi supporters danced to upbeat tunes, raised slogans, burst crackers and distributed sweets outside the party office here.

Kamal, who is known for films like “Hey Ram” and “Vishwaroopam”, has previously shown desire to join politics. He has also hinted launching his party by January.

On his birthday in November, Kamal announced the launch of a new app, which marked a step towards his political debut.

Five years of Nirbhaya rape case: Mamata Banerjee calls for making society safe

Kolkata, Dec 16: Remembering the horrifying Nirbhaya gang rape case in Delhi on its fifth year, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday called for making a safe society.

Taking to twitter, Banerjee said  “Remembering #Nirbhaya on the fifth anniversary of brutal Delhi incident. We cannot compensate her loss but let us resolve to keep our society safe”.

On this day five years ago, a 23-year-old paramedical student was brutally gang raped inside a moving bus in the national capital , which led to her death due to internal injuries 13 days later in a Singapore hospital.

The rapists, six in all, pounced on the young woman who had boarded the bus with her male friend to go home after watching a movie.

After committing the crime, they dumped both on the side of a road. Later, some onlookers informed the police.

The brutal crime triggered an nationwide outrage.
