New Delhi, June 19: Yet in another bizarre order, Haryana Education Department has issued a notification citing all the officials should give a standing welcome to the Members of Parliament (MPs) and Member of Legislative Assemblies (MLAs).
According to a circular from the chief secretary’s office, the behaviour of the public servant should be “meticulously correct and courteous” and should stand up from their seats to receive the MPs and MLAs from their respective vehicles, while they are visiting their offices, news agency ANI reported.
The notification also warns of action against those officials who fail to follow the rules.

Not only this, the officers have been instructed that all communications received from an MP or an MLA should be attended promptly. Also, information or statistics relating to matters of local importance sought by any MP or MLA should be furnished immediately, along with a soft copy.
The development comes after the Centre gave them a reference in regards to a parliamentary committee report, which said the violation of protocol and disrespectful behaviour of the bureaucrats with MPs and MLAs.
Earlier this month, ML Khattar led government had invited flak when it issued a notification that required athletes employed by it to deposit one-third of their earnings from commercial and professional commitments to the state sports council.
Later, the Chief Minister ordered the notification to be held till further notice.
