New Delhi, Aug 11: Jacqueline Fernandez might be a foreign export to Bollywood, but barely eight years into the industry and she has won hundreds of hearts with her bright smile and flamboyance.

Today, she is an integral part of every elite B-town club and has A-listers in her friend circle.The ‘Kick’ girl has a huge fan following not only in the country but also across the globe.

Jacqueline has come a long way and with several big banners in her kitty, there is no stopping this Sri Lankan beauty. From being Miss Universe Sri Lanka and having represented her country at the 2006 Miss Universe pageant, Jacky has a lot more to her personality.

Jacqueline made her Hindi film debut with 2009 film Aladin playing the character of Jasmine. The film also starred Riteish Deshmukh and Amitabh Bachchan. Her claim to fame was the item song “Aapka Kya Hoga (Dhanno)” she did for Housefull. Soon, she landed up with meaty roles in films like Housefull 2 and Race 2. But it was Salman Khan starrer Kick which became a turning point in her career. She has movies like A Gentleman and Drive lined up.

   1. Bahrain beauty


1. Many of us believe that Jacqueline was born in Sri Lanka, but she was born in Bahrain. Interestingly, Jacqueline can be said as multi-cultural as his father is Sri Lankan, mother a Malaysian, and maternal grandfather a Canadian.

2. TV reporter

Before she embarked on a showbiz career, Jacqueline returned to Sri Lanka to live with her parents after graduating in Mass Communication from Australia.


She took up a TV reporting job and the occasional modelling assignments too that followed after she was crowned Miss Sri Lanka Universe in 2006.

3. Music Video

After winning the title of Miss Sri Lanka universe 2006, Jacqueline was casted in a music video by Sri Lankan duo Bathiya and Santhush. The song titled “O Sathi” which was released in 2007.
This was before she made her Bollywood debut in Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Aladin’.

4. Jacqueline, the foodie

According to TOI, the actress launched her first restaurant in Colombo, Sri Lanka.


The food hub is named Kaema Sutra, and serves items from her grandmother’s recipe book. Reports suggest that the place is in collaboration with Japanese Chef Dharshan. You can find traditional Sri Lankan food at the restaurant.

5. Fitness Mantra

In order to remain fit, Jacqueline does work out in gym or home. Her workout includes martial art, yoga, cardio, etc. Anushka Parwani is her yoga instructor and she does yoga 5 days in a week.

6. First Love

Jacqueline’s first boyfriend was Bin Rashid Al Khalifa, prince of Bahrain. After Jacqueline dumped him, her released an album “Jackie”.

7. Jacqueline loves to cook

Besides acting and modelling, Jacqueline loves to cook and says it is a good therapy. Her favorite cuisine is French, but as she belongs to Sri Lanka, she says fish is a big part of her diet.
