Gandhinagar: BJP has decided that those above age of 60, those who have completed 3 terms as elected representative, and relatives of any political leader will not get party’s ticket to contest upcoming local body and civic elections, said president of Gujarat unit of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, CR Patil today in a statement.
State BJP parliamentary board meeting is underway in Gandhinagar to select the candidates of party for upcoming elections of six municipal corporations. The meeting will continue on 2nd and 3rd February as well. The meeting is being held at Chief Minister’s residence. The party will have to select over 8,000 candidates for upcoming elections of municipal corporations, taluka and district panchayats and municipalities.
