Heralding great displeasure with the state government, hundreds of Dalits have threatened to gather in Ahmedabad today to write postcards to actor Amitabh Bachchan so as to request him to spend some time in the state to feel and experience ‘badboo Gujarat ki.’
The actor is a brand ambassador for Gujrat Tourism and has endorsed a tag line that welcomes guests to expereince ‘khushbu Gujarat ki.’
Gujrat is stinking since dalits in the state have refused to clear animal carcasses to protest against severe attacks by gau sevaks in Una almost two months ago. The rotting remains of animals, is stinking the state ever since. While neither the CM nor the PM could make any substantial efforts to cease the pain of victims of Una.
After the flop Patidar party of Amit Shah and CM Vijay Rupani, a mass scale Gujrat stinking campaign by Dalits is a clear showcase of rising unpopularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his home state. Already Media took a jibe at Modi for sparing only 180 minutes in 27 months for Gujarat when he visited the state. It is expected that Modi would frequently visit Gujrat to pave the damage control ahead of State elections next year.
On Saturday it was reported that PM Modi had summoned ex Chief Minster Anandiben for failing to harness the Patel community and weakening BJP’s autonomy in the state.
