GST Council constitutes Panel to tackle MSME’s issues

New Delhi, Aug 4: Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday said the issues related to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises  were discussed in the 29th  GST council meeting. 

“In today’s GST council meeting the issues related to small businessmen and retailers were discussed”,  Goyal told mediapersons.

The union minister announced that the GST council has decided to form a sub-committee under the leadership of Shiv Pratap Shukla, Minister of State for Finance.

Deputy Chief Miniter of Delhi Manish Sisodia, Finance Minister of Punjab and Finance Minister of Kerala will be a part of this newly constituted committee which will look into GST-related issues of MSME sector.

Apart from this, Goyal said Law Committee will take decisions related to law and Fitment Committee will take decisions related to rates.

GST incentives for digital payments via Rupay card and BHIM app will be rolled out on a pilot basis, Goyal asserted.

Union Finance Minister Piyush Goyal chaired the 29th GST council meeting at Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital.

In the last GST Council meeting which took place on July 21, the Ministry of Finance held a discussion on several issues such as rationalisation of GST rates, simplification of return filing procedure, recommending amendments.
