Global cues, short-covering up key equity indices


Mumbai, Dec 7: Taking positive cues from Asian markets and short-covering, the key Indian equity indices opened in green during the early morning trade session on Thursday.

As per the market observers, healthy buying in capital goods, automobile and oil and gas stocks was witnessed during the session.

Around 9.30 a.m., the broader Nifty50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) traded higher by 38.85 points or 0.39 per cent at 10,082.95 points, news agency IANS reported.

The  30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the BSE, which opened at 32,615.05 points, was trading at 32,735.11 points — up 137.93 points or 0.42 per cent — against its previous close.

Meanwhile, the Sensex inched up a high of 32,737.11 points and a low of 32,598.12 during the intra-day session.
