Ganga river flows near danger mark in Varanasi

Varanasi, Aug 4: The Ganga river was flowing near danger mark in Varanasi on Saturday following heavy rainfall.

Uttar Pradesh is witnessing rains since last few days. With the continuous rainfall incidents of water-logging have been reported from several cities.

Within a span of one month, around 154 people were killed across the state, along with 187 animal deaths and damage to 1,259 houses with lightning in 72 districts.

According to the meteorological department districts including Sonebhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Ballia, Maunath Bhanjan, Azamgarh, Deoria districts, would continue to receive heavy rains and thundershowers.

Last week, River Yamuna crossed its danger mark in the national capital due to heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR.
