Fuel Price Cut Shows BJP concerned about state elections: Kapil Sibal

New Delhi, Oct 5 : Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal slammed the Narendra Modi government for playing politics and said that the fuel prices have been reduced because of upcoming State elections and is not related to the welfare of the people.

Comparing the continuous rise in petrol prices with the talented young batsman from Mumbai, Prithvi Shaw who became the 15th Indian batsmen to score a Test hundred on his debut against Windies at Rajkot, Kapil Sibal said “people celebrate the swashbuckling knock of batsman Prithvi but were very much worried about petrol prices scoring a hundred.”

 

“People celebrate Prithvi’s swashbuckling 100 but worried about petrol prices scoring a hundred .Shah says reduction of petrol prices by Rs 2.50 / litre a decision in the interest of the people .The truth : Decision in the interest of BJP because of upcoming State elections ,” Kapil Sibal tweeted.

BJP president Amit Shah said Thursday that the reduction in petrol and diesel prices by Rs. 2.50 a litre shows the Narendra Modi-led government’s sensitivity towards people’s welfare.
