Friends returning from wedding met with an accident in Delhi, 2 killed


New Delhi, Oct 18: B.Teach Students who came to attend friend’s wedding were reached to a turning point when their car met with an accident at ITO Delhi.

Two B. tech students were killed and three others were critically injured after their car ran over a divider at ITO, police said on Monday.

All the five friends hailing from Chandigarh came to Delhi to attend their friend’s wedding.

The deceased were identified as Anand and Aayushi Goel, while the injured were identified as Monika, Subhojeet and Sagun Sharma. All were students between the age group of 20-25.

According to the police, the accident took place around 2.00 a.m. on the intervening night of October 16 and 17, when they were travelling in a car from Laxmi Nagar to Connaught Place via ITO at central district.

“Police had to use gas cutter to get them out of mangled remains of the car,” a Senior Police officer said.

A case was registered in I.P. Estate Police Station. Meanwhile, police are waiting for their medical report to ascertain if they consumed alcohol, the officer said.
