France President Macron to visit India early next year

New Delhi, Nov 15: French Envoy to India Alexandre Ziegler on Wednesday announced that President Emmanuel Macron will visit India early next year.

Macron will attend a summit during which both the countries will launch a solar power alliance. This would be his to India since he took office on May 7.

Addressing media, Ziegler also informed about French foreign minister’s visit to India on November 17.

We are in the process of forging defence and security agreements in relation to India pacific and Indian ocean, he said.

Ahead of the 2015 Paris climate conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the solar alliance aiming to promote the global use of solar power.

Over 100 countries are supporting the alliance, which aims to set international standards and support research and development.
