Four years of Modi govt: Congress observes ‘Vishwasghat Diwas’

New Delhi, May 26: As the Narendra Modi-led government completed four years in power, the Congress party is observed Vishwasghat Diwas (betrayal day) on Saturday. 

Press conferences held in 20 different cities, including the national capital, by senior party leaders such as Gulam Nabi Azad, Ashok Gehlot and Rajdeep Surjewala to expose the “hollowness of the BJP Government”.

In other places, state unit presidents and AICC incharges addressed a presser to mark the protest.

Senior advocates Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Singhvi held press conferences in Bhuwneshwar and Mumbai respectively.

Speaking to media Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, “These four years can be defined in four terms – treachery, trickery, revenge and lies. Hence, India Betrayed.”

Meanwhile, Azad targeted Modi government over ranges of issues including attacks on journalists, Kashmir Unrest, Security, NPAs, Black Money and so on.

On the other hand,  All India Mahila Congress National Spokesperson AICC, Sushmita Dev attacked the Prime Minister for his silence on rape incidents.

“PM Modi had raised the issue of women’s safety. Today, when rape incidents are taking place, PM Modi is silent”, she said.

In reference to Unnao Rape Case, the Congress leader stated Today, the women have only one slogan, which will be chanted in 2019 as well – ‘BJP Ke Netaon Se Beti Bachao’.

In Bhubaneshwar, Sibal alleged that Modi is only concerned for the corporate houses. This government is of Whatsapp, Facebook, Amazon and Paytm like companies. It is not for the people of the country.

Attacking the Centre for not fulfilling any of the election promises, he said that it is a government of ‘jumlas’.

Earlier this week, the Congress released a poster named “Vishwashghaat” highlighting the failures of the Narendra Modi-led central government on completion of its four years in power.
