New Delhi, Oct 18: Former Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Chief Minister ND Tiwari passed away at Max Hospital in Saket on Thursday. He was 93.
Incidentally, Tiwari took his last breath on his 93rd birth anniversary.
He was the only political leader to have served as chief minister of two states, Uttar Pradesh and later Uttarakhand
The veteran politician was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital since July this year.
Tiwari was one of the most prominent leaders of Congress, who held many important portfolios throughout his career.
In 1986-1987, he was the Minister for External Affair in the cabinet of then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
