Lima, Nov 24: The Peruvian government are battling with the forest fires that engulfed nearly 10 regions, including four protected natural zones.
The Environment Ministry was informed that the fires were burning in the Cutervo National Park, Pagaibamba Protection Forest, Laquipampa Wildlife Refuge and Cerros de Amotape National Park, Efe news reported on Thursday.
Different state institutions’s Efforts are underway to control the blazes that were spreading due to high temperatures, strong winds and dry climatic condition prevailing in the country.
Besides fire brigades, 30 experienced rangers, army troops, volunteer park rangers and residents of nearby communities were trying to douse the flames.
Meanwhile, the Peruvian government has called out a state of emergency in several districts.
