Everyone witness lack of concentration in a day or for while sometimes, so one can overcome this by meditating 10 minutes on daily basis according to the recent study.
Usually, mindfulness is described as paying attention on things which are relevant according to situations and proximity. To achieve this state of mind meditating proved to be beneficial.
The researchers found that developing an awareness of the present moment reduced incidents of repetitive, off-task thinking is a trait of anxiety.
Mengran Xu,who is a researcher and doctoral student at the University of Waterloo in Canada said “Our results indicate that mindfulness training may have protective effects on mind wandering for anxious individuals.”
“We also found that meditation practice appears to help anxious people to shift their attention from their own internal worries to the present moment – external world, which enables better focus on a task at hand,” he added.
The case study, asserted in the journal of Consciousness and Cognition examined the impact of meditation on 82 participants who was suffering from anxiety.
The participants were asked to perform a task on a computer while experiencing disruptions to test their ability to stay focused on the task.
“Mind wandering accounts for nearly half of any person’s daily stream of consciousness,” Xu further added.
