Flower or Devil’s head?


London, July 12, 2016: A new orchid species measuring 5.5-9cm, named after its democratic patterns named ‘Telipogon diabolicus’ which are highly valued for their beauty and varieties , the researchers who viewed closely says ,flowers’ heart reveals what appears to be a devil’s head. The petals are also shown clawed.

Discovered by Marta Kolanowska and Dariusz Szlachetko who discovered are both from University of Gdansk, Poland and together with Ramiro Medina Trejo of Colombia.

This devilish orchid is one of the Critically Endangered species in the IUCN (International Union for Conservation) Red List.

There are more than 25,000 documented species of orchid, and scientists are finding more every day.
