Flaunt your stylish bra with summer outfits

New Delhi, April 14: Apart from experimenting with your looks externally, you can play up and show off your quirky inner wear stylishly under a thin T-shirt or a simple tank top, say experts.

Rosmin Kunnnathothottathil, Co-Founder at The Lingerie Store, and Suman Chowdhury, Head Designer at Clovia, have suggested ways in which you can show off your expensive inner wear:

* Go for those open cage front closing bras with stylish backs and flaunt them with your backless tops. The unappealing closures will be covered in front and will let you display your alluring back.

* While wearing off shoulder outfits this summer, opt for the right kind of strapless bra which fits you as if it is just made for you. You can even show off the stylish studded straps.

* Wear the bold lacy bra under your muscle tops or low-side tops. Let the colour of the bra be in contrast with your top so that it stands out and looks appealing when you swing your arms in style.

* Wear a sensual stylish bra under your semi-sheer baggie top. The bra adds extra colour and style to otherwise basic outfit. You can also flaunt a cage bra with neck detailing or even a bralette.

* Wearing a mesh can be quite unnerving. Wear your sensual neutral toned wired lace bra that would be matching your sheer top. This will give you the correct support and make you comfortable and will let you display your lovely lingerie.

* The ‘strappier’ your bra, the more sensual it is. There are loads of straps out there to experiment with. You could go for a single colour or match it up with multiple colours and give an extra oomph to your otherwise dull look.

* You don’t have to think of transparent straps, adhesive cups or nude bras for that backless top or the low neck halter lying in your wardrobe anymore. It is backless for a reason. Show it to your heart’s content. Again, it could be a simple matching bra, or a printed outlandish one that is announcing its presence, or even a sporty bra under a halter or a low neck tank for that jaunty look.

* All your deep necks can enjoy the company of your laces and bows. It is never old fashioned for laces and bows. All those pink and lilac shades that pop in your mind when it comes to laces – you don’t have to hide them under your dress anymore. Let them gracefully peep out of the neckline of your top.

Ramzan 2018: What to eat to stay full during the holy month

Published

ramzan Food

New Delhi, May 25: For those observing fasts during the holy month of Ramzan, it will help to start a day with a heavy and nutritious meal so that the body feels satiated for the remaining day, suggest experts.

Nutritionist Umang Agarwal, Founder and CEO, Umang World, has meal suggestions:

Sehri (early morning):

* Never skip the early morning meal that is Suhoor/Sehri as that is the fundamental meal your body depends for the rest of the day.

* Start your day with some nuts soaked overnight, followed by a juice or milk along with fruits.

* To ensure that you feel full during the rest of the day, opt for high-fibre foods such as multigrain breads with paneer/ chicken/ eggs along with vegetables.

* Oats or multigrain atta for stuffed parantha with paneer or with egg bhurji cooked on a non-stick pan will keep your body satiated for the day.

Iftaar (dinner time):

* In the evening, open your fast with a glass of lemon water with sugar and salt in it to provide your body with the much-needed hydration.

* Dates are both customary and important as they are a high source of energy and rich in vital nutrients.

* People who are diabetic can avoid dates and those who are lactose intolerant can opt for soya milk instead of regular milk.

* After a little gap, eat a proper meal that includes the likes of brown rice or high fibre roti with lots of vegetables salad, plus lean meat or fish or eggs.

Fasting can trigger health issues too. Deepak Parashar, Medical Officer, Healthians, has listed the drawbacks and how can they still go onto fasting:

* Diabetes: A diabetic person observing Ramzan fast has a high risk to suffer fluctuations in the body glucose level. Untimely meals and improper intake of medications can cause the blood sugar levels to drop significantly and cause hypoglycaemia that leads to weakness and fainting.

* Hypertension: People suffering from high blood pressure have to take medicines timely, as skipping can cause serious repercussions. Fasting during Ramzan due to its strict rules does not allow intake of medicine or water during the fasting hours. Such changes in blood pressure can do a lot of harm.

* Thyroid: For someone who is on a regular course of thyroid medication, improper or untimely intake of medication can cause hormonal imbalance in the body. Do not skip your medicines.

* Dehydration: Fasting for long hours without any food or water during the hot weather can cause a few health complications like dehydration, which can further cause weakness, lethargy, and headache.

* Stomach problems: Long hours of empty stomach can cause discomfort and gastric problems like bloating, ache and gas to name a few. Do not skip your share of ‘sehri’ to avoid any stomach woes.

* Cholesterol: The food consumed during fasting are usually loaded with fat and are deep fried. It can lead to an increase in the cholesterol levels of someone already suffering from cholesterol and heart problems.

* Weakness: Not everyone can afford to stay on an empty stomach for long hours. Long hours’ deficit of food and water can also cause weakness in many.

Can drinking too much water harm you?

Water

Toronto, May 23: Do you drink too much water? Beware, overhydration — excess fluid accumulation — can lead to dangerously low sodium levels or in the blood or result in brain swelling, researchers say.

Hyponatremia, a life-threatening condition of brain swelling, is more common in elderly patients and can cause cognitive problems and seizures.

“(Hyponatremia) occurs in common pathological conditions, including brain injury, sepsis, cardiac failure and in the use of drugs, such as MDMA (ecstasy),” said Charles Bourque from the McGill University in Canada.

While it was yet uncertain how hyponatremia develops, the study found that a defect in the hydration sensing mechanism of the brain could be the culprit.

The researchers said that brain’s hydration sensing neurons could not detect overhydration in the same way that they detect dehydration.

Overhydration activates Trpv4 — a calcium channel that can be found in glial cells, that act to surround hydration sensing neurons.

It is cellular gatekeeper implicated in maintaining the balance of water in the body.

“Our study shows that it is in fact glial cells that first detect the overhydrated state and then transfer this information to turn off the electrical activity of the [hydration sensing] neurons,” Bourque explained.

“Our specific data will be important for people studying hydromineral and fluid electrolyte homeostasis, and clinicians who treat patients faced with hyponatremia,” he noted.

The results, published in the journal Cell Reports, showed that overhydration is first identified by the Trpv4 channel which triggers the release of a type of amino acid known, taurine, which acts as a trip wire to inhibit hydration sensing neurons.

“Preclinical models of hyponatremia will be used to examine if the mechanism we report is affected in this condition with the long-term objective of designing new treatments or diagnostic tools,” Bourque added.
