Five killed after fire breaks out at Bengaluru bar

Bengaluru, Jan 8: Five men lost their lives on Monday in a fire at a bar here, police said.

“The victims were charred to death in the fire at Kailash Bar & Restaurant in the K.R. Market area between 2.30-3 a.m., while they were asleep on the ground floor of the building,” Bengaluru Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) M.N. Anucheth said.

All the deceased were employees of the restaurant.

“Though the cause of the fire is unknown and is being investigated, a short circuit appears to have set the blaze,” said Anucheth.

“We have registered a negligent case against bar owner (R.V. Dayashankar).

However, the owner of Kailash bar restaurant is absconding after a call from the police. news agency ANI reported.
