Fire breaks out at Hotel in Lucknow’s Charbagh, 4 killed

Lucknow, June 19: At least four people were killed after a massive fire broke out at a hotel in Charbagh area on Tuesday early morning.

Fire tenders rushed to douse the fire at SSJ International hotel situated in the busy area, which has one of main railway stations of the city.

Speaking to media, IG Lucknow confirmed the deaths. He said 4 people have died and more than 50 people were rescued from the building.

“If we find any lapse on hotel’s part during our investigation, we will take strict action against the people concerned”, he added.

The cause of fire yet to be ascertained.

As per News 18 report, this is the second major fire in the city this month. Earlier two weeks ago, flames had engulfed a temporary roadside cotton mattress, pillow sale and cotton beating outlet on a vacant plot in Behta Saboli near Gulachin temple under Vikasnagar police station.
