Fire breaks out at Bengal government hospital

Kolkata, Nov 11 : A massive fire broke out in state-run SSKM Hospital on Monday morning.

The fire was detected around 11 am in the library housed in the Ronald Ross building of the hospital.
All 70 patients were quickly evacuated from the hospital and there are no reports of anyone sustaining any injury in the mishap.

19 fire tenders were used to douse the flames. West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has announced an inquiry into the accident.

However, there  was no casualties or injury at the SSKM Hospital, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said.

 “The fire is under control. All patients are safe. Some patients were shifted. Nobody was injured,” said Banerjee, who rushed to the hospital.

“The library caught fire. The cause of the fire will be probed by the fire department, police and the health department,” Banerjee announced and assured the panicked relatives of patients that there was nothing to worry about.
