Financial irregularities in 19 ministries of Modi Govt  :  CAG report

On April 4, the report was tabled in the Lok Sabha, but irregularities came into the limelight after analysing the financial documents till March 2017.

New Delhi, July 17: The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report has claimed financial irregularities of Rs. 1179 crore in nineteen ministries under the Narendra Modi government.

The financial irregularities have been mentioned in Report Number 4 of CAG audit, Hindi news website Jansatta reported.

“This report has elaborated 78 cases in detail with financial irregularities amounting Rs. 1,179.16 crore covering 19 ministries and autonomous bodies/ corporation under their administrative control”, Report Number 4 reads.

As per the report, the money was squandered by ignoring the rules and regulations in many places resulting in revenue loss approximately in millions .

Most of the lapses surfaced in the Ministry of Human Resource and Development.

While other ministries include External Affairs, Information and Broadcasting, Health and Family Welfare, Culture, Consumer, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
