June 5, Monday : Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar today broke his silence over the controversial Bihar topper scam which has again messed up educational system of the state, said few Biharis are spoiling our image.
Kumar said he had ordered an FIR to be filed soon after he came to know about this year’s Class 12th Arts topper Ganesh Kumar.
Ganesh Kumar, a student of RNSJN Utkraamit Madhya Vidhyalaya in Samastipur district, was arrested on Friday evening and later sent to judicial custody for 14 days over using fake documents to appear in the exams.
He was declared the topper of Class 12 Arts stream securing 82.6 per cent, but he stumbled over queries posed by the media on music in which he scored 65 out of 70 in practicals.
Around 64.75 per cent candidates failed the BSEB Class XII examinations this year, following this Kumar said investigation is on and culprits will be punished.
Bihar CM claimed that no mass cheating case has been observed this year. He said to improve Bihar’s education system major steps will be taken soon.
Last year, also Bihar witnessed worst educational fiasco due to which authorities had to cancel the result of Humanities stream topper.
