Feud spilt in Yadav family, Akhilesh says will support Shivpal

Lucknow, Sep 17, 2016: After settling the furious feud within the Yadav family, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said he would support his uncle and Samajwadi Party state President Shivpal Yadav, and there was “no rift” in the party.

Yadav told reports that “I have congratulated him (Shivpal Yadav) on being the Uttar Pradesh chief of the Samajwadi Party and have asked all Samajwadi workers to congratulate him.”

He said all Samajwadi workers needed to work together “so that opponents don’t get a chance to raise fingers at us”.

He said the Samajwadi Party was “united and there is no rift”.

On Friday night, UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav announced that his Uncle Shivpal Yadav will be given back his portfolios and Gayatri Prajapati will be reinducted as Cabinet minister, issues which had triggered an all-out war.

The decisions were made after the party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav asserted that “There can be no division in the party, till I am there.” The signs of patch up came after Mulayam held discussions with brother Shivpal and son Akhilesh.
