New Delhi, April 18: Father of a victim in Malegaon blast on Thursday filed an application before the NIA court against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Sadhvi Pragya Thakur.
Application has questioned her candidature before NIA court citing her health which was one of the reasons in her bail application. news agency ANI reported.
“That intervener would further submit that Sadhvi Pragya Thakur got bail on health ground but clearly healthy enough to fight elections in the crippling summer heat which means she has misguided the court,” stated applicant Sayyed Bilal in his petition, filed in the NIA court on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Tehseen Poonawalla, has moved the Election Commission. She tweeted ” I have filed a complaint with the #ElectionCommission to not allow Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur ji from contesting the #LokSabhaElections2019 as she is a terror accused”.
“Hardik Patel a riot accused was also prevented by the EC. I state: I am not a member of any political party”.
This comes a day after, she was named as BJP candidate from Bhopal and will contest against Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh.
Pragya is an accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast which claimed lives of seven people . She spent around nine years behind the jail and is presently out on bail.
