Fake currency gang busted in Patna and Kanpur

New Delhi, Aug 30: Acting on a tip off, police force busted counterfeit currency racket in Patna and Kanpur.

In Patna, the police nabbed four people for circulating fake currency note in the market. A printing machine, papers and other machinery has been recovered from the gang.

The gang was printing the fake notes in Patna’s Karkad Bagh area and circulating it in all parts of the district from last two months.

They also have links in Bihar’s Nalanda district, Police said.

This comes day after, when the police arrested three persons on the charges of supplying fake Indian currency notes and seized more than Rs 12 lakh in Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 denominations, from Kanpur Dehat area.

Accused has been identified as  Ashwani Kumar, Jai Prakash and Rajkumar.

However, probe into the matter is underway.
