Explosion at Naya Bazar in Delhi, one killed

New Delhi, Nov 25: An explosion occurred in Naya Bazar, Chandani Chowk area of  Old Delhi due to fire crackers. As per the media reports, one people have died and at least five people have been injured.

The explosion took place very close to a mosque in Chandni Chowk area. Preliminary probe revealed that the man, killed in the explosion, was carrying a bag containing explosive material. He was reportedly smoking when the blast occurred.

Rescue efforts are currently underway to assist those affected by the blast. Delhi Police’s anti-terror wing and personnel from its special cell have arrived at the spot. The crime and forensic teams have also reached the site of the blast to pick up samples.

Naya Bazar is a highly congested area, with houses and shops on either side of narrow lanes.
