New Delhi, Aug 6: The Supreme Court on Monday directed the concerned municipal authorities to explore effective steps that could be taken to deal with disposing off garbage.
The apex court also made it clear that authorities cannot pick garbage from one home and put it in another.
The court has criticised Lt. Governor Anil Baijal for not paying attention to health hazards arising due to the improper waste management by the Delhi administration.
The top court has asked the Governor to come up with a master plan till August 17.
Last month also, the apex court bench Lieutenant Governor for not taking enough effective measures to handle the garbage issue.
Earlier, the Court had asked the Central and Delhi government to clarify who could be held responsible for disposing the “mountain loads of garbage” in the city— those reporting to L-G Anil Baijal or to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
