Ex Madhya Pradesh CM Sunderlal Patwa dies at 92, Modi mourns


New Delhi, Dec 28, 2016: Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa passed away at the age of 92 after suffering a cardiac arrest on Wednesday morning at a Bhopal hospital.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) media coordinator Lokendra Parasar said that after suffering the heart attack the senior party leader was rushed to a private nursing home, where he died.

Meanwhile, the MP government has declared a 3-day mourning in the state after the demise of the leader.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourned his death in a tweet and said:

Patwa was born on November 11, 1924. Sunderlal Patwa has served as the chief minister of the state twice. Once for a short period of two months in 1980 and then again from 1990 to 1992.
