Jharkhand, March 22, 2017: A former Deputy Mayor of Dhanbad, Neeraj Singh and three other were killed in a shootout in the Jharkhand’s city on Tuesday evening.
According to a media report, few unidentified Motorcycle-borne assailants opened indiscriminate firing on a car in which Neeraj Singh, his driver and his two others— Ashok Yadav and Santosh Tiwary were travelling, near Steel Gate of Dhanbad.
“The incident took place was returning to his home in his SUV. They reportedly used AK-47 and fired more than 50 rounds at the vehicle,” according to police sources.
After the incident, all the injured were rushed to Dhanbad’s central hospital where they died during the treatment. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has been deployed in the city for security reasons.
Meanwhile, the gigantic manhunt has been launched and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the incident. However, the police have yet to identify the shooters and ascertain their motive.
