After supporting the NDA’s presidential candidate things seems to be normal between BJP and Shivsena. Devender fadnavis in an interview with HT told that “meeting with BJP president with Amit shah had broken the ice between the waring allies.
Initially Shivsena wanted RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat to become the presidential candidate but NDA nominated Ramnath KOvind. Meanwhile shivsena is still criticising NDA with Thackeray terming the selection of a dalit a vote bank strategy.
Fadnavis also hinted out that the things are better than normal and the new understanding with Sena goes beyond presidential elections.
Some sources as told by the newspaper said that”Shah asked Sena for more support as BJP compromised the mayor’s post to them in civic body elections”.The improvements in the relations means that there would’nt be a demand of early elections by anyone from the alliance.
While talking about the farmer’s protest and BJP’s biased notion against cooperative sectors the minister said “they are not against the sector but trying to root out the corruption.
