Election commission of India has prohibited BJP from using the word ‘Pappu’ in its all kind of Gujarat election campaigns.

The word ‘Pappu’ is considered as a fun name for Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi in virtual world of Social Media. The ban on the word has been confirmed by a BJP leader, he told, “Before making any election-related advertisement, we have to submit a script to the committee to get a certificate.

However, they raised objection to the word ‘Pappu’, saying it is derogatory. They asked us to remove or replace it.”
In its election campaign ads BJP has symbolically used this word on which the leader said, the party will replace the word and submit a new script for the EC’s approval.

When contacted to the Gujarat Chief Election Officer on this matter he said, he was not aware of any such development and can comment only after getting the details.
