Eidul Fitr: May peace and happiness returns to Kashmir, says Azad

New Delhi, June 16: As the festival of Eid is being celebrated across the world, Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said “wish peace and happiness returns to Jammu and Kashmir”.

Meanwhile, speaking to media, Former vice-president Mohammad Hamid Ansari, stated “The occasion of Eid is to celebrate happiness.

Due to continuous ceasefire violations by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir, there was no exchange of sweets between the Border Security Force troops and the Pakistani Rangers at Attari-Wagah border.

People offered Namaz and began Eid celebrations. Thousands of Muslims turned up at Delhi’s Jama Masjid on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Eid ul-Fitr, an important religious festival of Muslims, marks the end of holy month of Ramzan.

The festival is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of Islamic lunar calendar.

Eid is marked with feasts and the meeting of families, relatives, and friends, where they exchange greetings and gifts with each other.
