New Delhi, Oct 29: A shallow earthquake of magnitude 6.4 struck south of the resort town of Ushuaia in Argentina on Monday.
The quake hit 324 km (201 miles) south of Ushuaia, on the archipelago of Tierra del Fuego, at a depth of 10 km (6 miles).
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties from the quake.
Earlier in a day, a 5.4-magnitude quake hit off Japan’s Torishima island.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the tremors felt at 10.28 a.m at a depth of 110 km.
