Earthquake of 6.4 magnitude jolts Philippines


Manila, Sep 8 : An earthquake of 6.4 magnitude struck the southern Philippines on Saturday, the US Geological Survey said.

There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage from the quake, which hit the east coast of the island of Mindanao, which  is popular with Brit holidaymakers and has a population of over 25 million.

According to the the USGS, the shaker happened nine kilometres northwest of the town of Manay.
