New Delhi, June 9: A massive dust storm and thunderstorm accompanied with light rainfall and squall hit Delhi and NCR (National Capital Region) on Saturday.
According to Skymet Weather, Light to moderate rain and thundershower with isolated duststorm activity will continue over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan and many parts of West Uttar Pradesh during the next 48 hours.

The dust storm had an immediate impact and the maximum temperature climbed down to 36 degrees Celcius from 39 degrees.
India Meteorological Department had predicted Dust storm/ Thunderstorm accompanied with light rain and squall with wind speed upto 70 to 80 KMPH in the afternoon.
The sky suddenly turned completely dark at 5.30 pm, about two hours earlier than usual, as rains lashed several parts of Delhi.
Due to bad weather, All flights to Delhi have been diverted. Operations in Delhi Airport have been also suspended, Private forecaster Skymet reported.
