Delhi-National Capital Region is all geared up to witness the heavy drops of rain to hit this weekend.
Heavy spell of showers will continue over the national capital on March 12 and 13. Whereas some places are likely to receive moderate showers.
According to Weather Department, intermittent rains are likely to lash entire Capital during next 48 hours, with isolated sharp and short spells of heavy showers. But intensity of rain will be high during evening and night hours.
There is also a possibility of thundersqualls over some places as well. The city has received 6 mm of rain, so far and the city is likely to surpass its monthly average rainfall of 16 mm.
We can already see the cloud cover since Friday morning and in wake of this , the day temperatures will not rise above normal.
Delhi has been witnessing above normal maximum temperatures for the last two days. In absence of any rain activity throughout the week, day maximums had been showing rising trend.
On Thursday, city recorded day temperature of 31.1°C at Safdarjung Observatory that was two degrees above normal. While, Palam Observatory observed 32.2°C, three degrees above normal.
However, this fresh spell of rain will restrict the temperature beyond 30°C.
