Discussion of surgical strikes an insult to Army: Naidu


New Delhi, Oct 5, 2016: Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu today said there was no need to respond to irresponsible remarks and demands by the opposition to the surgical strikes by the Indian Army, and added that no Indian citizen doubted the army’s commitment.

Speaking to media here on the sidelines of the inauguration of a modern social infrastructure, the Urban Development Minister said: “There is no need to respond to such irresponsible comments and demands.”

“I don’t think any other Indian citizen has any doubt about the credentials and commitment to our Indian Army,” he said.

Referring to the army’s surgical strikes at seven terror launch pads across the LoC on the September 28-29 night, He added that “Army has done a commendable job and the entire country is happy about it and the entire world has also acknowledged it.”

Naidu said the Congress has already realised its mistake and distanced itself from such comments made by some of its leaders.
