Deve Gowda meets Stalin, Kanimozhi to inquire about Karunanidhi’s health

Chennai, Aug 3: Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda on Friday met DMK leaders MK Stalin and Kanimozhi at Kauvery Hospital to inquire about party chief M Karunanidhi’s health.

I pray to almighty for his quick recovery. I pray that he crosses century. He is country’s senior-most leader and has played an integral role in national politics, Gowda told media after meeting DMK leaders.

Karunanidhi was admitted into the intensive care unit (ICU) of Kauvery Hospital here after his blood pressure dropped on July 28.

On July 31, the hospital said Karunanidhi will have to be remain warded for an extended period due to age related health issues including altered liver function.

According to the hospital, Karunanidhi continues to maintain his vital signs with active medical support.

The five-time former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has been suffering from urinary tract infection and age-related ailments and was earlier under observation at his home.
